Distribution Terms
Terms for preparing, validating, delivering, updating and withdrawing music releases through X2 Distribution.
1. Service
X2 Distribution is a modular, provider-neutral service for preparing and delivering eligible releases to supported destinations. Distribution is one part of X2 and is not the identity of the entire platform.
2. Non-Exclusive by Default
Distribution authority is non-exclusive unless a specific signed agreement expressly states otherwise. Use of X2 Distribution does not create a Label relationship.
3. Customer Rights
The customer must control the rights and permissions required to distribute the master, artwork, metadata and any included or referenced material in the selected territories.
4. Masters, Compositions and Publishing
Master ownership, composition rights and publishing administration are separate. Distribution of a recording does not by itself transfer or establish publishing rights.
5. Covers, Remixes and Samples
Covers, remixes and sampled recordings must have the licences and permissions required for the intended territories and services. An unauthorized cover, remix or uncleared sample is not eligible for authorized delivery.
6. Metadata and Canonical Data
Customers must provide accurate titles, artists, contributors, genres, languages, territories, identifiers, rights information and other required metadata. X2 may normalize and validate data into canonical records for supported workflows.
7. Standards and Identifiers
X2 may use DDEX and other standards for supported delivery workflows. ISRC identifies recordings and UPC or EAN identifies releases; identifiers do not by themselves prove ownership.
8. Artwork and Assets
Artwork, audio and other assets must meet applicable technical and rights requirements. X2 may reject or request correction of files that fail validation.
9. Delivery and Provider Decisions
Delivery may use one or more provider adapters or direct integrations. DSPs and other destinations independently control acceptance, availability, timing and local rules.
10. Updates and Takedowns
Updates and takedowns may require provider processing time. X2 may preserve historical metadata and delivery records even after a release is withdrawn.
11. Monetization and Claim Eligibility
Distribution eligibility does not automatically establish Social or UGC monetization, master claiming, composition claiming or exclusive fingerprinting eligibility. Each is assessed separately.
12. AI Content
AI-generated or AI-assisted content may be distributed where sufficient commercial rights, required disclosures and provider eligibility are established under the AI & Synthetic Content Policy.
13. Artificial Activity
Artificial streaming, manipulation of platform activity and other fraudulent promotion are prohibited. Provider adjustments, clawbacks, penalties or takedowns may affect reported revenue.
14. Royalties
Distribution revenue is reported and reconciled according to source data and the Royalties & Payouts Terms. Provider reporting may be delayed or corrected after initial reporting.
15. Suspension and Termination
X2 may suspend affected distribution functions or remove content for rights disputes, fraud, provider requirements, legal obligations or material violations.
