Publishing & Rights Terms
Terms for composition records, publishing shares, rights control, registrations, evidence and related rights workflows.
1. Scope
X2 Publishing & Rights supports structured records and workflows for compositions, songwriters, publishers, rights ownership, control, shares, territories, registrations, evidence, claims and related professional operations.
2. Works Without X2 Distribution
A composition or rights record may be managed in X2 even when the related recording was not distributed through X2, subject to verification and applicable service requirements.
3. Parties and Shares
Users must identify relevant writers, publishers, administrators and other parties accurately. Publishing ownership, control and royalty allocation must not be conflated.
4. Splits
Composition and publishing splits must reflect the applicable rights or contractual arrangement. X2 may require totals, participant acceptance, effective dates and historical versions according to the workflow used.
5. Territories and Effective Dates
Rights may vary by territory, term and effective date. X2 may preserve historical states rather than overwriting prior ownership or control information.
6. Evidence and Registrations
X2 may request contracts, society records, registrations, identifiers or other evidence before sensitive rights actions, claims or exports.
7. CWR and Institutional Formats
X2 may support CWR and other structured export, import or registration formats required by supported rights organizations, affiliates, licensing systems or professional institutions. Availability depends on actual supported workflows.
8. Master and Neighboring Rights
Master rights and neighboring-rights information may be managed alongside publishing information where operationally relevant, but they remain legally distinct from composition and publishing rights.
9. Claims and Conflicts
Conflicting rights information may be marked disputed and may require evidence, participant communication or external resolution. X2 does not create ownership merely by storing a claim.
10. Professional Verification
Publishing registration, composition claiming and professional rights administration may require identity, professional-role, society or business verification appropriate to the requested action.
11. AI and Authorship
Commercial permission to use AI-generated material does not automatically establish human authorship, copyright ownership or society-registration eligibility. Publishing eligibility is assessed separately under applicable law, society rules and the AI & Synthetic Content Policy.
12. No Legal Advice
X2 provides technology and professional workflows and does not independently adjudicate ownership or provide individualized legal advice.
