Social & UGC Monetization Terms
Terms for creator-account monetization and music-rights monetization on supported social and user-generated-content platforms.
1. Two Different Monetization Models
Creator Account Monetization concerns earnings generated by a user's own eligible channel or account, such as advertising, platform rewards or creator-program revenue.
Music Rights / UGC Monetization concerns revenue generated when controlled music is identified, matched, claimed or otherwise monetized in third-party content. These are separate systems.
2. Connected Accounts
Creator-account services may require an authorized connection to a supported social or video platform. The user must have authority over the connected account and comply with provider rules.
3. Music Rights Monetization
Rights-based monetization requires sufficient control of the relevant master, composition or other right and may use provider-specific reference files, matching systems, policies, claims or revenue-sharing mechanisms.
4. Eligibility Is Separate
Distribution eligibility does not automatically establish monetization, master-claim, composition-claim or exclusive-fingerprinting eligibility. Each is assessed separately.
5. Original Masters
An original master may be eligible for master monetization where the user owns or controls the necessary master rights. Composition claiming requires separate composition or publishing control.
6. Covers
A cover may be monetized as a new master only where the user owns or controls that master, has all required composition, mechanical or other permissions, and the provider permits the use. The user cannot claim the underlying composition unless the user owns or administers it.
7. Remixes and Samples
An authorized remix may be eligible only within the rights granted for the original master, composition, performances, samples, territory and commercial use. Unauthorized remixes and uncleared samples are not eligible for authorized claiming or monetization.
8. Beats, Libraries and Common Material
A non-exclusive beat or library element may be usable under its licence without creating exclusive fingerprinting rights. Common loops, stock elements and royalty-free material cannot be claimed as exclusively owned merely because they appear in an original finished master.
9. Public-Domain Material
A user may own and monetize a new master of a public-domain composition where permitted, but the public-domain composition itself cannot be converted into a proprietary claim.
10. Allowlisting and Licensed Uses
Users may need to identify authorized channels, licensees or uses that should not be claimed or blocked. Provider-specific allowlisting or release procedures may apply.
11. Conflicting Claims
Conflicting claims may be paused, released, adjusted or disputed according to provider rules and X2 rights-claim procedures. Users must not maintain claims they know are invalid.
12. Reporting and Accounting
Social and UGC revenue may be estimated before provider confirmation. Formal accounting follows the applicable X2 accounting schedule: an initial six-month period followed ordinarily by three-month periods, subject to reporting and reconciliation.
13. Revenue Share and Fees
The standard 85% participant/rightsholder and 15% X2 model applies only where the relevant service expressly adopts it. Provider deductions, taxes, payment charges or disclosed X2 service fees may apply separately.
14. Artificial Activity
Artificial views, engagement, traffic or creator-program manipulation are prohibited and may result in provider adjustments, withholding, takedowns or Anti-Fraud enforcement.
15. No Guarantee
X2 does not guarantee that a platform will accept a claim, monetize content, keep a program available or generate a particular amount of revenue.
