Royalty Split Recipient Terms
Terms for limited access by a person or entity invited to receive an allocated royalty share.
1. Purpose
A person or entity allocated a share through an X2 Royalty Split may receive and administer that participant's own entitlement without obtaining access to the full range of X2 professional services.
2. Invitation
A recipient may be invited by email by an authorized X2 user or workflow. The invitation may identify the relevant recording, work, release or revenue source, participant role where applicable, share, effective date and status.
3. Email Verification
The invited recipient must verify control of the email address associated with the invitation. Email verification does not by itself constitute professional-role verification, rights verification, copyright verification or full KYC or KYB.
4. Acceptance
The recipient may be required to review the allocation, accept these Terms, confirm the share and provide beneficiary information. The recipient may dispute materially incorrect allocation information.
5. Limited Purpose
Split Recipient access is limited primarily to accepting the allocation, viewing the recipient's own statements and payout status, managing the recipient's own payment information and receiving eligible payments.
6. Limited Information
The recipient may see relevant asset identification, the recipient's own role or allocation, effective date, earnings, statements and payout status. The recipient does not receive access to other participants' banking details, private financial information, unrelated X2 catalogs, confidential contracts or unrelated rights information.
7. No Ownership Created
Receipt of a royalty allocation does not by itself establish master ownership, composition ownership, publishing ownership, neighboring rights, authorship or distribution authority.
8. No Professional Status Created
Receiving a split does not automatically verify the recipient as a songwriter, performer, producer, publisher, label, master owner or rights administrator.
9. Payout Setup
To receive payment, the recipient must provide an eligible payout method and complete the identity, beneficiary, tax or payment verification required for the transaction or by the applicable financial provider.
10. Proportionate Verification
Full professional verification is not required solely because a person receives an ordinary contractual royalty split. However, X2 cannot waive identity, beneficiary, tax or payment checks that are legally required or required by an applicable financial provider.
11. Own Financial Information
A recipient is entitled to information reasonably necessary to understand that recipient's own allocation and payment status without receiving another participant's private financial information.
12. Accounting
Split payments follow the applicable X2 royalty-accounting schedule. Unless specific terms provide otherwise, the initial accounting period is six months and later periods are ordinarily three months.
13. X2 Revenue Share
Where the underlying service expressly uses an X2 contractual revenue share, the recipient's allocation is calculated from the applicable participant or rightsholder pool after the X2 share unless the governing agreement expressly states otherwise.
14. Split Changes and Disputes
Accepted split history should not be silently rewritten. A recipient may dispute the recipient's percentage, effective date, allocation, payment status or beneficiary information on a legitimate basis.
15. Pending Recipient
Until acceptance and required payout setup are complete, the allocation may remain pending. The amount does not automatically become X2 revenue or another participant's share merely because onboarding is incomplete.
16. Restricted Permissions
Split Recipient access does not itself authorize release distribution, publishing registration, rights claiming, ownership changes, Social or UGC claiming, catalog administration, organization representation or developer API access.
17. Additional X2 Services
If a recipient later wishes to use additional professional functionality, the recipient must satisfy the verification, rights and service requirements applicable to that function. Existing split and payout history may remain associated with the same verified identity where appropriate.
18. Publishing-Specific Allocations
Where a split specifically relates to publishing, authorship or society income, additional professional identifiers, registrations or rights verification may be required because the underlying entitlement depends on those rights.
19. Fraud and Privacy
Recipients must not provide stolen bank accounts, false identity information, fabricated entitlement information or other fraudulent data. Personal, tax and payout information is processed under X2 privacy policies and is not disclosed to the person who created the split merely because that person created the allocation.
20. Financial Providers and Charges
Independent financial providers may impose additional lawful verification, payment or conversion requirements. Applicable charges are handled under the X2 Payments Policy.
