Copyright & Rights Claims Policy
Process for copyright, master, composition, publishing and related rights claims.
1. Scope
This Policy covers claims involving master recordings, compositions, publishing, neighboring rights, performances, artwork, trademarks and other rights relevant to X2 Services.
2. Claim Information
A claimant should identify the protected work or right, the affected content, the nature of the claim, relevant territories and dates, contact information and supporting evidence.
3. Evidence
Evidence may include contracts, assignments, licences, registrations, society records, source files, release history, correspondence and other reliable material. X2 does not treat a catalog identifier alone as conclusive ownership proof.
4. Master and Composition Claims
Master ownership and composition or publishing rights are separate. A person entitled to claim a master does not automatically control the composition, and a songwriter or publisher does not automatically own the master.
5. Covers, Remixes, Samples and Licensed Material
A cover may require composition or mechanical permission even where the user owns the new master. A remix may require rights in the original master, composition, performances and samples. Uncleared samples are not eligible for authorized claiming.
Non-exclusive beats, common library material and royalty-free elements may be usable under a licence without granting exclusive fingerprinting or ownership rights.
6. Social and UGC Claiming
Claim eligibility is assessed separately from distribution and monetization eligibility. Users may claim only the rights they actually own or administer and only where provider rules permit.
7. Notice and Response
X2 may notify an affected user, request evidence, restrict the affected claim or content and provide an opportunity to respond where appropriate.
8. Counter-Notice and Restoration
Where applicable law or provider procedure supports a counter-notice or restoration process, X2 may facilitate it subject to the required information and evidence.
9. Conflicting Claimants
Where multiple parties assert conflicting rights, X2 may mark the relevant entitlement as disputed, restrict the affected amount or claim and request resolution or additional evidence. X2 does not act as a court and does not create ownership by recording a dispute.
10. Royalties During Dispute
Where technically and legally possible, only the disputed portion may be held while undisputed amounts continue through normal accounting.
11. Bad-Faith Claims
Knowingly false or abusive rights claims may be treated as fraud and subject to enforcement.
