X2 Records Label Terms
General terms for X2 Records Label applications and selected label relationships.
1. Separate Label Business
The X2 Records Label is separate from the X2 technology platform. Creating or using an X2 account does not create a Label relationship or exclusivity.
2. Selection
The Label may review and select projects or master recordings at its discretion, subject to applicable law and its own commercial criteria. Submission does not guarantee acceptance.
3. Separate Agreement Required
No rights grant, exclusivity, release obligation or Label relationship exists until a separate Label Agreement is executed.
4. Masters
The Label Agreement identifies the specific master recordings and the exclusive or other rights granted for those masters. Ownership remains with the rightsholder unless the agreement expressly provides otherwise.
5. Publishing Excluded
Composition, songwriter and publishing rights are not automatically transferred with master rights and require separate express terms if relevant.
6. Remixes and Other Versions
Remixes, edits, alternate versions and sampled material may be included only where all required rights, permissions and clearances exist.
7. Verification
The applicant may be required to establish identity, authority, master ownership or control, relevant professional role and payout beneficiary information.
8. Personal Manager Contact
After application review, an X2 Records Label manager may contact the applicant personally by email to discuss proposed collaboration, masters, exclusivity, territory, contract term, release strategy, commercial terms, revenue share, marketing and project conditions.
9. Accounting
Unless the signed Label Agreement provides otherwise, the initial accounting period is six months and subsequent accounting periods are ordinarily three months, subject to source reporting and reconciliation.
10. Fraud and Rights Claims
False rights information, forged evidence, artificial streaming and other fraud may result in immediate review, takedown, withholding or enforcement under X2 policies and the signed agreement.
