Tax, VAT & Invoicing Policy
How indirect taxes, invoices, receipts and tax-related transaction information apply to X2 fees.
1. Base Fees and Taxes
Unless expressly stated as tax-inclusive, X2 Service Fees, Usage Fees, API Charges, AI Verification Fees and other service charges are stated before applicable VAT, GST, sales tax or similar indirect tax.
2. Transaction-Specific Treatment
Tax treatment may depend on customer country, place of establishment, residence where legally relevant, business or consumer status, tax registration, service type, place-of-supply rules, exemptions, reverse charge and other applicable law. X2 does not apply one universal tax rate worldwide.
3. B2C Transactions
Where X2 is legally required to collect indirect tax from a consumer, the applicable tax is calculated according to the relevant jurisdiction and service classification.
4. B2B Transactions
Business customers may be subject to different treatment, including reverse charge where the legal conditions are met. A business account alone does not automatically establish eligibility for reverse charge.
5. Tax Identifiers
X2 may request and validate VAT or other tax identifiers, business information, billing address and country of establishment where relevant.
6. Checkout Transparency
Where reasonably practicable, X2 should display base fee, applicable tax treatment, tax amount, total and currency before the payment is confirmed.
7. Tax-Inclusive Pricing
Where a price is expressly displayed as tax included, X2 will not add an additional customer-facing indirect tax except where a correction or change in legally required treatment applies.
8. Invoices and Receipts
X2 may issue invoices, VAT invoices, simplified invoices, receipts, transaction confirmations, credit notes or other documents appropriate to the transaction and applicable law.
9. Invoice Information
Where required, invoice data may include issue date, invoice number, supplier information, customer information, tax identifier, service description, taxable amount, tax rate, tax amount, currency, total and reverse-charge wording.
10. Electronic Invoices
X2 may issue invoices and receipts electronically. Users should maintain accurate billing information and retrieve documents made available through their account.
11. Multiple Currencies
Tax may be calculated or reported in a transaction, invoice or legally required reporting currency. Paying in a different currency does not by itself change the applicable tax jurisdiction.
12. Service Fee Tax and Royalty Tax Are Different
VAT, GST or sales tax on an X2 service fee is different from tax withholding, income reporting or treaty treatment applicable to royalties or payouts.
13. Royalty Withholding
Where X2 or an applicable provider is legally required to withhold tax from a royalty or payout, the withheld amount may be deducted and identified separately from X2 service-fee taxes.
14. Customer Tax Responsibility
Customers remain responsible for their own income, corporate, professional, royalty and filing obligations. X2's collection of indirect tax does not calculate all taxes owed by a customer.
15. Corrections and Refunds
Incorrect tax treatment may be corrected through revised invoices, additional tax, credit notes, refunds or adjustments where required. Refund of an X2 base fee does not necessarily refund an independent bank or conversion charge.
16. Records
Tax and invoice records may be retained for periods required by tax, accounting, audit or other applicable law. Account deletion does not automatically delete legally required tax records.
17. No Tax Advice
X2 provides transaction information related to X2 Services but does not provide individualized tax advice.
